The campaign at your school

Work on the topics with the children! A series of lessons in the materials folder (differentiated for grades 1-2 and 3-4) deals with the basic foods of different countries, a project day for grades 4-5 looks beyond the horizon: "What do children all over the world eat?" Travel with the children to Burkina Faso, Kenya and India. Another series of lessons for grades 3-4 focuses on children's rights. Organise project days on the topics of children's rights, water, justice and community. Decide for yourself how you want to organise the activity and what you want to focus on. You can find all the building blocks in the materials folder.

Learning and sharing together in one world

The Solibrot campaign focuses on children in different countries, their living situations and their basic foodstuffs. These girls and boys often have to work for a living instead of going to school. Some children live alone on the streets. Misereor projects want to give them a better life and a future. You and your pupils can support these projects with the Solibrot campaign. In the folder you will find everything you need for the campaign, for example bread recipes, songs and games from all over the world, a sample letter to parents, a press release and much more - as well as teaching suggestions for classes 1-6, a "project week construction kit" and a thanksgiving service. Ring binder. 168 pages. Further information at www.misereor.de/solibrot-grundschule

Bake Solibrot and organise a fundraising campaign

Bake bread or rolls with the children using tried and tested recipes from around the world (in the materials folder). Ask the children's families to actively support the Solibrot campaign. A Solibrot festival offers the children the opportunity not only to offer their baked goods for a donation to a Misereor project, but also to show what they have learnt. Integrate the Solibrot campaign into the project week or your school festival. Or sell the baked goods outside the school, for example after the family service in front of the church or at the weekly market, and donate the proceeds to Misereor.

Experience community at the project day

During the project day, you and the pupils consolidate what they have learnt and what the children have experienced. The children work in small groups on the topics of "Food around the world" and children's rights, present their results to each other and get active by cooking and making things with their hands.
The "Project week construction kit" in the "Solibrot - Campaign for primary schools" materials folder offers lots of ideas.

Optionally, you can invite the drum narrator Markus Hoffmeister to the project day as part of the "Solibrot - Aktion für Grundschulen" campaign. Please apply in good time by e-mail.

Songs to sing and dance along to

It's really fun to dance and sing along with music. That's why the songs for the campaign are also available here as MP3s and sheet music.
