Donating where need is greatest: Misereor

With your donation "Where it is most needed", we can support our partner organisations flexibly. This enables us to channel the donation to where the need is most urgent.

Everyone has the right to live in dignity, security and justice.
Your commitment helps to make this vision a reality.

Misereor provides emergency aid in the event of a disaster, but also always focusses on long-term help for self-help. After all, disasters have many causes: extreme natural events, political and social crises, climate change, wars and conflicts.

Menschen nach dem Erdrutsch im August 2026 in Nepal

For months, Nepal has been plagued by severe flooding and landslides. People are living in constant danger and fear for their families and homes.

Ebola epidemic in the DR Congo

The severe earthquake in Myanmar cost thousands of people their lives. Many more lost their home, their belongings or relatives. Through your gift, people in need will receive food, clothing and medical support.

Doing good can be so much fun: Discover our popular fundraising campaigns and get started - on your own or in a group.

Donation gifts give double the joy. They enable important help for self-help that has a big impact.

Since 1958, we have supported people in areas where poverty is greatest – no matter what their faith, culture or the colour of their skin.

Thanks to your help we have been able to support more than 116,000 projects in over 100 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

To date, we have raised more than €8.8 billion to support people around the world to sustainably change their lives.

The German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) certifies Misereor’s responsible and efficient use of donations.

In 2024, 92.2% of our expenditures was used for project, campaign and educational activities, while only 7.8% was used for advertising and administration.

If you donate €24 or more, you will receive a statement listing all your donations to Misereor at the beginning of the following year. This statement can be submitted to the German tax office as proof of your contributions.

If you would like a receipt for an individual donation, please email us at Spendenbuchhaltung@misereor.de.
