In Douala, the economic centre of Cameroon, many young people want a good foundation for their professional future. The Misereor project partner CODAS Caritas Douala helps them to start a career - by sharing the costs of training, organising practical workshops and providing advice on setting up a business.
The story of the brothers Silas Teyim and Ulrich Gansop is extraordinary. An acquaintance of their mother saw the talent of the two boys and the family's living conditions. "I saw this woman who gets up at 3 a.m. every day and works until late at night at the market," says Laurely Nguenang.
Laurely Nguenang put the brothers in touch with Misereor's partner CODAS Caritas Douala. CODAS covers part of the training costs. They only have to pay a small part themselves - this strengthens their willpower and self-confidence and ensures that the young people stick with it.
With your support, the Misereor partner organisation CODAS Caritas Douala can create prospects for young people - just like Ulrich, Silas and Pauline.
With your donation...
Let's turn opportunities into reality. Then the future begins!
