Lenten meal fundraising campaign: Misereor

Good food nourishes body and soul and brings people together. Many groups and communities have turned this into a wonderful tradition: they invite guests to a meal of solidarity, ask for donations for Misereor and thus bring the whole world together around one table. Join in!

The Lenten meal was prepared by members of the committee "In Zukunft fair leben und handeln" and the world shop "FairKaufsPunkt".

You can combine the campaign with many occasions and serve more than just a meal.

Bring the community together, especially during Lent, and use the opportunity to inspire people to join in! Groups can take it in turns to organise the meal, children and young people can lend a hand. Perhaps local businesses would also like to contribute something - in the form of food donations, for example?
Collect for a Misereor donation project, that is close to your heart and tell your guests about it. You will receive suitable material for each of our projects.
Would you like to serve something very special and get to know delicacies from the Misereor partner countries? Every year we present you with recipes to match the Lent campaign. Perhaps there is something for you? You can download the recipes here.
A coffee tastes good after the meal - and also something sweet for the afternoon or a sandwich for the evening. If you've really recharged your batteries, you could also set off on a solo run... Discover here our other activities!

Lord, we ask you not to let us forget the people who do not have the choice, who are still denied the gifts of your rich creation.
Lord, protect us from the vices of our time: living in abundance, wastefulness, selfishness. Give us the strength to treat your creation responsibly and to share selflessly.
Lord, bless our table fellowship for and with the people of the South, with which we would like to contribute to a more just world.

Every household harbours a treasure trove of delicious recipes. Too bad not to share them! Collect the recipes, create a solidarity cookery book and offer it for download in return for a donation.

The fair cooking box

Cooking boxes are popular everywhere. The principle: you put together packages of recipes and the right ingredients. Anyone who wants to take part can order the fair cooking box from you, collect it and then prepare the meal at home.

Eating together virtually

You don't necessarily need a large table for the communal experience of a round table. You can also organise a virtual get-together: with inspiring texts, music, a prayer together before the meal and the opportunity to chat. If you like, you can join in with your plate - and of course make a donation.
