Pastoral communities in general and camelid herders in particular play an important role in the conservation of pastoral landscapes worldwide. The thematic dossier introduces the importance of mobile livestock farming, presents the living and husbandry conditions as well as the challenges faced by camelid farmers in Latin America, Africa and Asia (Mongolia) and shows why we as a global community should specifically support camelid farming. A dossier by Misereor in cooperation with the editors of welt-sichten.
