How development cooperation works: A mystery about the work of the partner organisation "Butterflies" in Delhi, India
- Year group: 8–9
- Geography
This teaching resource builds on the story of a fictional street child and, using the Mystery Method, illustrates how Misereor’s partner organisation ‘Butterflies’ is opening up paths to a better future for street children in Delhi. This double lesson teaches pupils the key differences between meeting basic needs and genuine support for self-reliance (empowerment). The services offered by Butterflies – ranging from education and medical care to participatory programmes – illustrate how development cooperation strengthens potential and places the dignity of every child at the centre.
