Whether it is raw materials, nature conservation projects or CO₂ credits: land and natural resources are in high demand worldwide. But who decides how they are used? And what does this mean for the people who live there?
In Tanzania, Maasai communities are fighting for land rights and the preservation of their traditional grazing lands. In northern Mozambique, conflicts over land, resources and gas reserves are leading to insecurity and displacement.
In conversation with our guests, we will explore how international interests are changing the lives of local communities and what options they have to defend their rights.
We will also examine the links between land rights, agriculture and food security, and share our experiences in development policy and global cooperation.
