Talking to the powerful
In his founding speech in 1958, the Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Frings, wrote Misereor's political mission into the organisation's mission book. The organisation should "speak to the conscience of the powerful of the earth, the rich and the rulers from the Gospel". We need your support to ensure that speaking out leads to concrete change. Only then can we
- Mobilise people in Germany - for human rights, democracy and climate protection.
- Organise dialogue between organisations of the global South and politics and business - in Germany and internationally.
- Commissioning studies and expertises that bring human rights violations or environmental crimes to light.
- Lobbying for justice, peace and sustainability.
- Strengthen alliances and counter populism with facts and attitude.
