Bruce Clarke has designed the Lenten veil for 2027/2028 on behalf of Misereor. It is entitled ‘Journey into the Unknown’ and is inspired by the story of the Emmaus disciples. It addresses uncertainty and the search for direction – whilst at the same time offering a sign of hope: people can reach out to one another, dare to connect and find new paths together.
Display fabric made from recycled fibres, approx. 180 g/sq m. The material is flame-retardant and therefore complies with the safety regulations for public buildings in accordance with DIN B1.
Dimensions of the large ‘Hungertuch’: 284 x 200 cm. Dimensions of the motif: approx. 257 x 173 cm. The ‘Hungertuch’ was produced with a climate contribution.

The topic of ‘animal ethics’ is complicated and complex: ecological, economic, anthropological and ethical issues all play a part, and conflicting interests clash. We therefore aim to provide inspiration for discussion, both within specific subjects and across different subjects. Ultimately, it is also about rethinking our consumption and dietary habits against the backdrop of climate change.
