Dr Andreas Frick and Dr Thomas Schwartz, the two directors of Misereor and Renovabis, the aid organisations for justice for people in the Global South and Eastern Europe, are "full of expectation" and "really curious about what will be creatively designed". A special joint campaign will take place in spring 2025 with the sister organisations of the global church and with groups from individual parishes: Because both Renovabis under the motto "Full of Dignity" in its Pentecost campaign and Misereor under the motto "On Dignity. Ready. Go!" in the Lenten campaign are focussing on human dignity, the two Catholic aid organisations want to make visible the diverse commitment in Germany that strengthens human dignity.
To this end, the two aid organisations are inviting people to draw attention to a wide range of civil society activities with "walls full of commitment". The Germany-wide participatory campaign begins on Ash Wednesday, 5 March, and ends on Whit Sunday, 8 June. "Projects and experiences that stand for solidarity and the humane treatment of other people are to be made visible in a striking way," says Thomas Schumann from Renovabis, promoting the joint campaign.
In line with the motto "Do good and talk about it", such encounters, testimonies, memories and examples are to be displayed on walls. The "walls full of commitment" will find a prominent place in churches or schools, at clubs or in fire stations, etc. Anyone interested can download a free print template or order a starter kit to design their walls in central locations.
Hannah Braucks from Misereor calls: "Show your wall to those active in (local) politics to present your exemplary commitment and send a photo to Misereor and Renovabis." The two Catholic aid organisations then want to combine the individual "walls full of commitment" into one large digital wall and use it as an example for the humane treatment of other people.
