Online training for teachers of Years 3–6
How can children’s right to health be taught in a clear and realistic way in Years 3 to 6? This training session presents Misereor’s new educational poster, ‘Children – Health – Future’, along with the accompanying teaching guide.
The focus is on the experiences of twelve-year-old Pratima Yadav and her mother Sarita Kumari in the Indian state of Bihar, where Misereor’s partner organisation GPSVS is active. Their story highlights the connections between health, medical care, nutrition and medicinal plants, clean water and hygiene, climate and the environment, as well as community and the future.
Participants will gain a concise overview of the structure and content of the material and learn about specific ways to use it: from a brief introduction through individual lessons to an interdisciplinary project. The session will present discussion prompts, research tasks and action-oriented practical ideas that establish links to the pupils’ everyday lives and encourage an appreciative shift in perspective.
This digital event is part of the professional development series“The 17 Sustainable Development Goals – Learning Snacks for Teachers”, which we are offering from 10 November to 3 December 2026 in collaboration with various non-governmental organisations working in the field of development education.
