As the chair of the highest governing body, Stephan Burger, the “Misereor Bishop”, is responsible for development cooperation with Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania and the associated funds.

The Subcommission for Development Issues belongs to the Bishops’ Commission for International Church Affairs. The Subcomission discusses development policy issues, makes decisions together with the Board of Directors and the committees on the direction of Misereor’s work and approves funding.

We must not lose sight of the fact that what we do here and now has an impact on other people, whether directly or indirectly. This is why it is important to act and plan with foresight and to consider the well-being of others.
