For Misereor, each individual project is part of a larger task. Together with our partners in Africa and the Middle East, Asia and Oceania and Latin America and the Caribbean, we develop joint visions and objectives to effectively support social processes. We promote the sharing of experiences and networking & provide professional advice on topics such as urban and rural development, human rights, health and peace.
Our partner organisations receive close support and, if necessary, advice on management and organisational development issues.
Basic principles of project cooperation
Professional support requires firm principles. For this reason, Misereor carefully assesses the likely impact and feasibility of each potential project in advance.
Interventions funded by Misereor must meet a number of requirements. They must be based on the principle of subsidiarity and be both complementary and temporary.
Misereor only provides support where the people and institutions on the ground have reached their limits and therefore require external support. Misereor will not permanently take on tasks that are the responsibility of the state, but will remind governments that their actions must serve to combat poverty.
And finally, activities may only be temporary so as not to create new dependencies.
Avoiding customs costs for funding requests etc.
To enable faster processing and to save resources, please only send digital copies of your funding request or other documents to Misereor, using the e-mail address info@misereor.de. Make sure to state the country in which the project is to be carried out in the subject line.
If documents must, however, be sent by post, please note the following customs information to avoid incurring unnecessary costs.
